Engagement & Process

4 questions

Our engagement follows a structured five-phase process: Discovery → Architecture → Build → QA & UAT → Launch & Hypercare. We begin with a free 60-minute discovery call to understand your goals, followed by a detailed scope of work and fixed-price proposal within 5 business days. Once agreed, we assign a dedicated project manager, technical lead, and Agile squad. You have real-time visibility into progress through a shared project dashboard and attend weekly sprint review demos. We do not disappear after launch — a 30-day hypercare period is included in all engagements.

Yes — our initial discovery call is completely free and carries no obligation. During this session we understand your business objectives, user personas, technical constraints, and success metrics. For larger engagements (£30K+) we offer a paid Discovery Sprint (typically 1–2 weeks) where our architects and UX team produce a detailed technical specification, system architecture diagram, wireframes, and a risk register. The cost of the Discovery Sprint is deducted from the total project fee if you proceed.

We use a formal Change Request (CR) process. When a new requirement arises that falls outside the agreed scope, your project manager raises a CR document outlining the additional work, estimated effort, timeline impact, and cost. You approve or decline — nothing is built without sign-off. We always flag scope risks proactively during sprint planning rather than surfacing surprises at the end. Minor adjustments within sprint capacity are accommodated without a CR.

We follow a pragmatic Agile (Scrum) methodology with two-week sprints. Each sprint includes a planning session, daily async stand-ups via Slack, a mid-sprint check-in call, and a Friday demo/review with stakeholders. We use Jira or Linear for backlog management (client's choice) and Confluence or Notion for documentation. For fixed-scope projects, we overlay a Gantt-style milestone view so you can track progress against the overall timeline at a glance.

Pricing & Commercial

3 questions

We offer three commercial models: (1) Fixed Price — ideal for well-defined projects where requirements are stable. We provide a firm quote after the Discovery Sprint and absorb any estimation risk. (2) Time & Materials (T&M) — suited for evolving products or ongoing feature development. You pay for actual hours consumed at agreed day rates, with monthly invoicing. (3) Dedicated Team — a monthly retainer for a dedicated squad (e.g. 1 PM + 2 engineers + 1 designer) that operates as an extension of your internal team. Most clients start with Fixed Price for the MVP and move to a T&M or Dedicated Team model for ongoing development.

Project investment varies widely based on scope and complexity. As a general guide: a high-quality MVP (8–12 weeks) typically ranges from $8,000–$12,000. A full-featured enterprise SaaS product (20–40 weeks) typically ranges from $30,000–$45,000+. We provide detailed, itemised quotes — not ballpark estimates — after completing the Discovery phase. There are no hidden fees: our quote covers design, engineering, testing, deployment, and the 30-day hypercare period.

Yes. For fixed-price projects we typically structure billing across 4 milestones: 25% on contract signing, 25% on design sign-off, 25% at UAT handover, and 25% on go-live. For T&M engagements we invoice monthly in arrears with NET-14 payment terms. We accept bank transfers (SWIFT/SEPA/BACS), Stripe, and for enterprise clients we can accommodate purchase-order-based workflows.

Legal & IP

3 questions

Absolutely. All intellectual property — including source code, database schemas, documentation, and design assets — is fully assigned to you upon final payment. Our standard agreement includes an IP assignment clause making this unambiguous. We do not retain any licences, rights, or claims over work we build for you. We may use anonymised project details and screenshots for marketing purposes unless you request a white-labelling NDA, which we are happy to sign.

Yes — always. We sign your NDA before any project discussions begin. If you do not have one, we can provide our standard Mutual NDA which covers confidential information shared in both directions. Our team members all sign employment-level NDAs and confidentiality agreements as a condition of employment, giving you contractual protection at every level of the organisation.

Our standard contracts are governed by the laws of England & Wales for UK and international clients, or Indian law (Punjab jurisdiction) for India-based clients. We are flexible and can accommodate other governing laws for enterprise clients where required. All contracts are drafted in clear, plain English without excessive legalese.

Technical Standards

3 questions

Our core expertise spans: Backend — Laravel (PHP), Node.js, Python, Go. Frontend — React.js, Vue.js, Next.js, TypeScript. Mobile — React Native, Expo, Flutter. Data & AI — Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, ClickHouse, Apache Kafka. Cloud & DevOps — AWS (certified architects), GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions. Database — PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, TimescaleDB. We deliberately stay technology-agnostic and will recommend the right stack for your requirements rather than defaulting to what is easiest for us.

Quality is non-negotiable. Every PR goes through peer code review before merge. We enforce automated linting and static analysis in CI (PHPStan, ESLint, Psalm). All API endpoints have unit and integration tests — we target ≥80% code coverage on critical paths. For security, we follow OWASP Top 10 guidelines, conduct dependency auditing (Composer audit, npm audit) on every build, and use parameterised queries throughout. For regulated industries (healthcare, fintech, legal) we bring in external security consultants for penetration testing before go-live.

Yes. We have delivered HIPAA-compliant healthcare platforms, SOC 2 Type II certified SaaS products, and GDPR-compliant EU-facing applications. Compliance is designed in from the architecture phase — not bolted on at the end. We work with specialist legal and compliance advisors where required and can connect you with our network of compliance consultants for formal certification audits.

Support & Maintenance

3 questions

Every engagement includes a 30-day hypercare period post-launch where we monitor the platform, fix any production issues within 4 hours (critical) or 24 hours (non-critical), and handover detailed runbooks and documentation to your team. After hypercare, we offer three ongoing support packages: (1) Essentials — security patches and critical bug fixes. (2) Growth — feature development on a T&M or retainer basis. (3) Managed — full ongoing engineering support with an embedded Techglock squad.

Our standard SLAs are: P1 Critical (platform down) — 1-hour response, 4-hour resolution target. P2 High (key feature broken) — 4-hour response, 8-hour resolution target. P3 Medium (minor feature impacted) — 1 business day response. P4 Low (cosmetic / enhancement) — 3 business days. Uptime targets of 99.9% are included in all managed support agreements, backed by a service credit structure. SLA terms are specified in your support contract.

Yes. We regularly onboard existing codebases. Our process starts with a paid Code Audit (typically 3–5 days) where we assess code quality, security vulnerabilities, technical debt, infrastructure health, and documentation completeness. We provide a written audit report with prioritised recommendations. If you then engage us for maintenance, the audit fee is credited against the first month's retainer.

Timeline & Team

3 questions

Timelines depend on scope and complexity. A well-specified MVP typically takes 8–16 weeks from kickoff to launch. A full-featured enterprise platform (ERP, SaaS, marketplace) typically takes 5–12 months. We provide a detailed project timeline with milestone dates in our proposal. We do not over-promise and then delay — our milestone completion rate is 94% on-time across all 2024 projects.

You will have a named, dedicated team: a Project Manager as your primary point of contact, a Technical Lead who architects the solution and reviews all code, and a squad of 2–5 engineers, designers, and QA engineers scaled to your project needs. You will meet your entire team before signing. We do not outsource work to sub-contractors — every team member is a direct Techglock employee or long-term associate with a signed NDA.

Our primary team operates in IST (GMT+5:30), with core hours of 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM Monday to Friday. We have team members and project managers with overlapping hours for UK (GMT/BST), Europe (CET), and ANZ clients. For US clients (ET/PT), we schedule weekly calls during morning IST / evening ET overlap windows. Async-first communication via Slack means time-zone differences rarely cause delays.
